Bittman2011
Managing Editor/Production Report 2010/2011 Marilyn Bittman
Overall, 2010 production went well. We produced four journals in 2010, with 4 planned for 2011. Articles are currently being lined up for the upcoming issue, 36.2.
Editing: We are a little behind, but should catch up before year-end. Both Kim and Andrea are working hard to make sure the papers are uploaded in good shape.
Copyediting: Our copyediting pool is healthy, and we are fortunate to still have Eric Spalding onboard to help us with our French translation and proofing. I have also enlisted another copyeditor who is proficient in both English and French (her first language is French).
Design: Matt Soar has provided us with excellent journal covers over the past year and it has been a pleasure to work with him. We will miss him. Brian Hydesmith, our layout designer, continues to come through even when we are running behind schedule; he is always “on time” with all his work.
Printing: With new staff at our printers, we had to iron out a few kinks, but I feel the journal has improved with more consistency in the cover’s colour as well as the alignment of pages.
Online Publishing: Michael Felczak, as always, does a great job of putting up our cover picture online and catches any last minute glitches before we publish.
Subscriptions: Anne continues to run a tight ship and strives to keep our subscribers happy.
Advertising/Marketing: a) About twice a year, we continue to exchange ads with Comunicación y Sociedad.
b) Look for our postcards at the upcoming CCA meeting. c) Anne markets upcoming issues to our subscribers and potential subscribers, especially when special issues are about to be published
Welcome I would like to welcome Michael Dorland onboard and look forward to working with him on upcoming issues.
